Cinderella’s stepmother and her two daughters are obsessed with the latest fashion. This fairy tale was not modernized by moving the story into every day context and urban background, but with moderated attitude toward cruelty of everyday reality.

New stepmother continues to be evil, but this characteristic is now mostly evident through her hypocrisy. She is grabbing every opportunity to hurt and make Cinderella’s life as sadder as she can. Whatsoever, in this play, Cinderella isn’t so miserable and unattractive, and what is pointed up is her lovely nature and kindness.
This play’s musical parts are exceptionally interesting and kids are welcome to sing along with performers.

The enchanted world of folk tales, with their princesses and evil stepmothers, magic forests and wise old kings has been an integral part of childhood for hundreds of years. And as children, listening to folk tales is how we first learn to tell stories about the mysteries of the world we live in, and about our own baffling thoughts and emotions.

Consciously and unconsciously folk tales introduce us to the realities of life. They encourage us to celebrate the freedom and the joy of our imaginations. But they also tell us what we instinctively know, that not all men are good, that we can all be greedy, and that life involves struggle.

Jacob and Wilhelm, the brothers Grimm, collected and wrote the most popular and most famous collection of folk tales in the world. They were experts in presenting only the most essential information to allow the story to be told. They believed in the power of imagination and they knew the importance for children of facing the realities of life. And in our production, we have attempted to be true to their vision.
