Nikola's workshop

Nikola Zavišić

Born on 27 April 1975 in Bela Crkva. Studied at FDU (The Faculty of Dramatic Arts) in Belgrade and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Received his bachelor’s degree from the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague ( DAMU), Department of Directing and Dramaturgy in 2000, and his master’s degree from the same faculty, Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre in 2003.
He is currently living in Belgrade but works in Serbia as well as in Montenegro, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Sweden.
As a theatre director and writer, permanently interested in developing children’s and youth theatre, but by no means avoiding theatre for adults.
He pays great respect to puppet theatre.

Some of his awards include :

1. The award for the best play on The Festival of Professional Puppet Theatres in Niš, in 2008, for the puppet opera for children : “Bastien and Bastienne” (Puppet Theatre “Pinokio”, Zemun)
2. Grand prix of the festival “ Serbian Puppetry Gatherings” in Novi Sad, in 2007, the best direction, text and four acting awards - “Aladdin’s Magic Lamp” (Puppet Theatre “Pinokio”, Zemun)
3. The best direction, text and the acting award on The International Children’s Theatre Festival in Kotor, in 2007 - “The Rump of a Bird of Paradise” (National Theatre Užice)

He is participating in The Festival “Pozorište - Zvezdarište” for the third time :
